Keeping Students at the Center of Standards Alignment🎯
We created the Passage Leveler, informed by scientific approaches to literacy development, at every grade level; giving you the ability to make any text, fully accessible to your students as they grow in their reading journey.
After launching a whole library of free resources and getting into a candy-related scandal, I'm going to keep it short and sweet today so that you can focus on getting the most out of your prep time using our tools.
Keeping laser-focused on our design principles, we've stealth released two new game-changing features thanks to feedback from hundreds of members of our growing user-base of teachers and administrators.
For my "how short is short?" here's your TD;LR:
- Make every text accessible to students using our new Passage Leveler🎚️
- Say goodbye to long legalese PDFs and use our New Standards Explorer🌐
- Get the Tour Bus, we're coming to all 50 states!🚍
Introducing our new Passage Leveler
When my 4th grade classroom had a mix of students reading on the 2nd grade, 4th grade and 6th grade levels, this is the tool I wish I had to make sure all my kiddos could confidently engage in our class discussions.
It turns out, many of you wished for that too!
So, we created the Passage Leveler, informed by scientific approaches to literacy development, at every grade level; giving you the ability to make any text, fully accessible to your students as they grow in their reading journey.
And we mean every text! Check out this week's free resource drop to see our curated selection of leveled texts crowdsourced from the interests of our teacher user base!
Bye PDFs, Hello Standards Explorer!
If you're an instructional coach supporting teachers, an academic dean building unit plans, or a grade level team lead facilitating your group lesson planning, then you know how hard it is to sift through pages and pages of convoluted PDFs to find the standard description for what you want to cover in each lesson.
Well, if there's one thing the Planning Period nerds know how to do well, is databases, and in just a couple of days, we built a standards explorer that helps you ditch the PDF files, and get exactly what you're looking for to keep your lesson plan standards-aligned!
The standards explorer is available to everyone! Click here to bookmark it!
We're taking the Great American Roadtrip
We're adamant about making standards-aligned pedagogy accessible and context responsive to all teachers, so over this weekend, we're super excited to introduce:
- Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS)🤠
- Georgia Standards of Excellence (GSE) 🍑
Now y'all (see what I did there?) will be able to use our suite of tools to produce lone-star-state responsive resources and keep the rigor "peachy" as you align with standards.
And don't worry, New Jersey Learning Standards, and Florida B.E.S.T Standards, you're next!
At Planning Period, we believe localized education drives student outcomes. Follow along as we continue to leverage AI to make rigorous, context-responsive education available to all!
